Spooner Railroad Park Board & Friends of the Railroad Park
The Friends of the Railroad Park, Inc. (FORRP) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization, and the fundraising arm for the City owned roundhouse, turntable, and developing Railroad Park. Terri Reiter, City Council Alderperson, is the Chair of the Railroad Park Board and the Secretary/Treasurer of FORRP. The Spooner Railroad Park Board consists of community members with a common goal of preserving Spooner's railroad heritage and offering a gathering space for community members & visitors.
The Mission:
Friends of the Railroad Park aspires to provide diverse year-round leisure opportunities through the preservation of Spooner's rich railroad history, open green space, and park settings for its community and visitors. Spooner Railroad Park encourages revitalization and community pride by stimulating economic, culturally enriched experiences and activities within and around the Park.
The Friends of the Railroad Park exists:

- To preserve and build upon Spooner's rich railroad history.

- To educate future generations on how and why Spooner was founded.

- To redevelop the unused, decaying roundhouse & brownfield property as an historic site & railroad theme park.

- To help revitalize Spooner's downtown while preserving the historic atmosphere.

- To lead and support the preservation and future restoration of railroad facilities.

- For economic development, increased tourism, generate revenue for new and existing businesses.
